Fiesta Choreography: Leylet Hob: Choreography & Musicality with Nasila
Join us Thursday, April 29, 5:30-7:30pm
Come learn an exciting dance to one of the most beloved songs in the Arabic world. ‘Night of Love’ marked the first time the ‘Voice of Egypt,’ Um Kalthoum, sang a work composed by famed composer Mohammed Abdel Wahab. You’ll learn combinations and moods to match maqsum, malfouf, baladi (masmoudi saghir), masmoudi kebir, and 6/8 rhythms, plus dynamic transitions, powerful accents, and a guided improvisation to a beautiful taxim.
Nasila will be teaching this choreography during her regular Thursday classes, starting March 18. This workshop will be a review of the entire choreography. Tuition in this workshop includes participation in the Virtual Spring Fiesta. Filming dates, rehearsal & location TBA.
